If you’re anything like me, I’m sure you’ve had a few days where you have thrown your hands in the air ready to quit this whole homeschool gig. For years I would spend all day teaching both my children, only to get to the end of the day, exhausted, worn out, and feeling like a complete failure. I’d look around at all the other homeschool moms I knew and wondered why they seemed to have it all together, yet I could hardly make it through the day.
My kids were still in elementary school and I was committed to homeschool them through high school. At the rate I was going, there was no way I would make it. Every day was so exhausting on myself and my kids. I knew there had to be a better way to do this homeschool thing.
So I began thinking, how could I homeschool without it completely exhausting the kids and I? How could I homeschool without constantly arguing with the kids about their assignments? How could I make homeschooling actually enjoyable for our family?
The kids were in middle to upper elementary school at the time, so I decided they were old enough to begin taking responsibility for some of their own learning. Maybe if they took ownership of their learning, it would take some pressure off me and it would allow them the freedom to learn however they felt was best for them. It didn’t hurt to at least try.
I started small by having each child take responsibility for learning about a certain concept in one subject on their own. What happened after that, amazed me! The kids absolutely loved being responsible for learning on their own. Little by little they started becoming responsible for more and more of their own learning. It was a win/win! My kids took the pressure off me to teach them every single thing, and they were actually enjoying the learning process! We were no longer arguing over assignments, and the stress was beginning to melt away.
Over time, I developed a system that helps us communicate and stay on track together. I know exactly what they are learning and they know exactly what is expected of them. We are now several years into this independent learning system, and the kids and I are free. We are free from the stress and arguing. The kids are free to enjoy their learning experiences. I am free to have time in the afternoons to do the things I love.
This independent learning system can bring a homeschool family so many wonderful benefits, just as it brought so many marvelous benefits to our family. That is why I created a course to teach other homeschool families how to implement this system into their homeschool. I see too many homeschool parents stressed out on a daily basis, continuing to argue with their children over schoolwork. Homeschooling should be a joyful time, not a time of tension and stress.
I want to see other homeschool families, like yours, blessed by this program. That’s one of the reasons I made sure the cost for this course was so low. I know homeschool families, like ours, are on a very tight budget. I worked hard to pack this course with a ton of value for the price paid.
Just like I made a choice many years ago, you now have a choice to make. You can either remain in your cycle of homeschool exhaustion and frustration or you can opt to escape that! For more information on the course, you can click here.
