If there is one thing that I find the most difficult and time consuming about making pizza at home, it’s making the dough. With all the kneading, resting, and rising – it’s time consuming and a TON of work!
With my busy family of four, I am always looking for shortcuts that will help me get to the desired result super quick. Using the bread machine to do all the kneading, resting, and rising is a great alternative. This is why this Easiest Bread Machine Pizza Dough Recipe is the simplest pizza dough you will ever make. (If you don’t happen to have a bread machine, but would like another simple way to make pizza dough, please see my Basic Pizza Dough Recipe post.)
Of course, every bread machine is a bit different. You will want to make sure to follow your manufacturer’s recommended directions on how to put in the ingredients for your bread machine pizza dough. My bread machine manufacturer recommends liquids first, then dry, so that is how I have laid out these directions.
You will first want to put in 1 1/3 cups of water and add to that 8 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil.
After adding the liquids, you will then add the dry ingredients, which include 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. sugar, 4 cups of bread flour, and 3 tsp. of Instant Active Dry Yeast.
I like to make a little groove in the flour to put the yeast in. My daughter calls it a little home for the yeast.
That is it! The pizza dough is all ready to pop into the bread machine. Make sure to put it on the bread machine’s “dough setting” and press start.
Now it’s time to sit back, relax, and let the bread machine do all the hard work for you!
After an hour and 30 minutes, look what comes out of your bread machine – beautifully risen pizza dough!
You’ll want to take the bread machine pizza dough out of the bread pan right away and start dividing it into four dough balls.
Not sure how to form a dough ball? Check out my post called How To Make Perfect Pizza Dough Balls.
Each dough ball will need to weigh about 8 ounces each.
You will then want to put each dough ball in a glass bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Let it rest for an hour and you are ready to make some pizza pies!
